Mahamrityunjay Yantra — The Rig Vedic Shiva Yantra for Health, Longevity, and Victory Over Death
Mahamrityunjay Yantra is the sacred geometric diagram of Mahamrityunjaya — the "Great Conqueror of Death" form of Lord Shiva. It is the classical remedy for chronic and serious illness, longevity concerns, protection from accidents and untimely death, and post-surgical recovery. Consecrated with the Mahamrityunjay Mantra — one of the oldest and most powerful mantras in the Rig Veda — it is prescribed as an adjunct to medical care, not a substitute for it.
Vedic Crystals' Mahamrityunjay Yantra is engraved on pure copper, calibrated to classical proportion, and pre-consecrated with 1,008 recitations of the Mahamrityunjay Mantra by trained Vedic pandits in a Shiva temple muhurta.
What Is Mahamrityunjay Yantra?
The Mahamrityunjay Mantra appears in the Rig Veda (7.59.12) and is the most revered mantra in the Shaiva tradition for healing and longevity. The yantra is the geometric embodiment of the mantra's frequency — a central bindu enclosed within a downward-pointing triangle, surrounded by a hexagram, eight-petalled lotus, and three-layered bhupura, with the 32-syllable mantra inscribed along the outer rings.
The mantra is:
Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushti Vardhanam Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat
"We worship the three-eyed one who is fragrant and who nourishes all beings. May he liberate us from the bondage of death, just as a ripe cucumber is easily severed from its vine — leading us to immortality, not to further bondage."
The yantra channels this mantra's frequency into the space it is installed in, and into the body of the wearer when worn as a locket. It is the most widely prescribed classical remedy for serious health situations across all Vedic traditions.
Key Benefits of Mahamrityunjay Yantra
-
Supports recovery from chronic illness. Traditional prescription for cancer, cardiac conditions, autoimmune disorders, and other long-cycle illnesses — as an adjunct to full medical treatment.
-
Aids post-surgical and post-accident recovery. Installed by families of patients in extended recovery, and worn by patients themselves during rehabilitation.
-
Protection from untimely death. Prescribed during Marakadasha (dasha of a death-inflicting planet) or when Ashtama Shani (Saturn transiting the 8th from Moon) is active.
-
Longevity support for the elderly. Traditionally installed in homes with elders in advanced age.
-
Reduces accident-proneness. Worn during periods of Mars-Rahu or Mars-Saturn conjunctions in transit, or during frequent travel.
-
Softens the impact of Sade Sati. Saturn's 7.5-year transit becomes less physically taxing when supported by Mahamrityunjay worship.
-
Deepens meditation practice. The mantra is one of the most stabilising for advanced sadhakas.
-
Reduces fear of death and end-of-life anxiety. Both in the practitioner and in caregivers.
-
Blesses new pregnancies and safe childbirth. Installed during pregnancy for maternal and infant health.

Never delay or discontinue medical treatment on the basis of installing this or any yantra.
